Bishop-Elect Alfred M. Nicholson

As the spiritual shepherd and administrative leader of our organization, the Presiding Bishop holds a pivotal role in guiding our community towards its collective purpose. Endowed with spiritual authority and vision, the Presiding Bishop provides guidance, inspiration, and pastoral care to our members. They oversee the spiritual direction of the organization, ensuring adherence to our faith traditions and values. Additionally, the Presiding Bishop serves as the primary representative of our organization to external stakeholders, fostering relationships with other religious bodies, community leaders, and the public at large. With a deep commitment to our mission, the Presiding Bishop leads with integrity, wisdom, and compassion, inspiring all members to embody our shared values and work towards our common goals.

About the Presider

Alfred Maurice Nicholson, the son of (the late) Alfred L. and (the late) Louella C. Nicholson, was
born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. He graduated from the Detroit Public School system with
honors in JROTC (achieving the highest rank of Colonel) and Journalism (Editor-in-Chief, Senior
Yearbook). Early spiritual formation was entrusted to New Light Baptist Church, under the dynamic
pastoral guidance of the late Dr. Cornell E. Talley. He has earned a Bachelor of Science in Social
Psychology from Park University; a Master of Divinity degree from Vanderbilt University; and a Doctor
of Ministry degree from United Theological Seminary.
Dr. Nicholson chose a military career path in the United States Air Force, culminating as a
Senior Chaplain in the Pentagon, Washington DC. He retired with over 30 years of total service
(including wartime deployments), as an honorably well-decorated Air Force Lieutenant Colonel.
Dr. Nicholson served as Senior Pastor of Christ Cathedral Baptist Church of Detroit, Michigan
for 13 years; and serves as founding Pastor of the former Gospel Faith Fellowship Ministries of
Waldorf, Maryland (7 years), currently named Living Water Church of Waldorf.
In May of 2021, Pastor Nicholson was consecrated and elevated to the office of “Overseer” in
the Lord’s Church, under the auspices of Archbishop Larry D. Palmer Sr. of Waldorf, Maryland. As
Overseer, his sacred assignments included House of Israel Ministries, Worldwide, Inc. (HIM), United
Covenant of Christian Churches, Inc. (UCCC), Master Circle Christian Fellowship International (MCCFI),
and Ministries Solutions 411, Inc.
After a sacred change of direction in early 2023, God laid upon his heart a phenomenal charge.
Dr. Nicholson humbly received the mantle of Chief Servant Leader and Apostolic Establisher of Living
Water International Christian Fellowship, Inc. which officially launched on 1 September 2023. He now
serves as Bishop-elect awaiting an appointed day in June 2024 for Bishopric Consecration and Prelate
enthronement.
Dr. Nicholson is credited with two publications: “IMAGO DEI AND AFRICAN AMERICA: A Critical
Approach to the Quintessence of the African American Church Tradition” the thesis at Vanderbilt
University. The other being “Revisioning Spirituality to Empower an African American Church towards
Liberative Ministry”, the dissertation at United Theological Seminary, of Dayton, Ohio.
Pastor Nicholson is married to First Lady (Minister) Karen Green-Nicholson and have six
children; Sharmaine, Dorothy, Keonna, Cordrin, Tiffany, and Pastor Jalen; along with 13 grandchildren.
Dr. Alfred M. Nicholson continues to be highly inspired by 2 Timothy 4:5, “But watch thou in all
things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.” (KJV) To God
